Visit to Sharon Audubon Center

Visited the Sharon Audubon Center in Sharon, Conn., today to hike the trails, look at the raptors, owls, including barred owl Sophia (pictured), and possibly spot a beaver at work. Never saw the beaver, but saw some gorgeous scenery and a couple of examples of his handiwork around Bog Meadow Pond.

Drive to Taconic, Connecticut

Stopping in Salisbury, Conn., we spotted a chipmunk behind a coffee store, and in Taconic, along a lake owned by Meryl Streep, we saw a flock of Canada goose and wildflowers, including poppies.

The big cheese in Great Barrington

On a visit to Great Barrington, Mass., we stopped at Robin's Candy Shop as well as Rubiner's Cheesemongers & Grocers. The front display left no question what this place is about.

In one of the vintage stores in Millerton, New York, near Chris's family home, he found a silk-satin top hat!

First (firefly) light

In Lakeville, Connecticut, I saw my first firefly, which isn't a fly at all, but an ugly-looking beetle.

Junior's cheesecake

Upon arrival in New York, we found our cab alongside a Junior's Cheesecake truck, and that put me in the mood to follow up a few days later at Grand Central Terminal, where they have two locations: in the food court or market area. Simply yummy!

In line for Alexander McQueen "Savage Beauty" at the Met

When you reach the head of the line for the Alexander McQueen "Savage Beauty" show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, you're still behind the hundreds of people who showed up earlier. This was the only photo I took because the security guard came up to tell me, "No photos." Other people did sneak photos in the exhibit though.

At The Plaza

Ensconced at The Plaza. That's a faux bear fur throw or uber blanket! Good if you set the Thermostat at 65 or below. The bath is also nice, twice the size as any at home. There's a lot more room to the right, with tail mosaic from floor to ceiling and large windows that let in light.

Ahhhh!!!!!

Waiting on the tarmac on a Delta flight from Atlanta to New York, this plane was heading toward us, closer and CLOSER!
