"Project" lunch

Went to see "Project Runway" designers Casanova, Michael Drummond and Mondo Guerra, hosted by Andy South, at Honolulu Community College in the morning. Afterward, joined them for lunch with Malie Moran at Mariposa, Neiman Marcus.

Hello Yuko!

I had the opportunity to interview Hello Kitty designer Yuko Yamaguchi, who resuscitated the cat, who I learned from her was the underperforming black sheep of the Sanrio family in the early 1980s. Today, Kitty's a star thanks to Yuko!

At a lunch at Tiana Torii's house, the guest of honor was Hermes CEO Robert Chavez, and she decorated with Hermes scarves and the luxury retailer's signature color.

It was a '70s kind of evening downtown at Catherine's Closet, where Kimberly Mitsuoka was dressed in the spirit of Catherine Fong's first anniversary at her 125 Merchant St. location.

Dozens of bowls were up for grabs at the Empty Bowl Project's Night in Chinatown soup fundraiser for the hungry.

At HIFF's Oscar Night party, designer Andy South walked the red carpet and was greeted by Monica Ivey.

I was in front of a line to get into Jin Din Rou. The crowd was much bigger, but there's no wide angle or fisheye on an iPhone.

BMWs

BMW stores its cars near our offices, so I can shop while walking through the lot. I didn't know how much the Z4's cost new since mine was secondhand, for $11,000.
