Window dressing at Louis Vuitton

After dinner in Waikiki, stopped by the Louis Vuitton store and loved seeing the collaboration installation by artist Yayoi Kusama.

Smoked!

There are worse things to do than judge the smoked meat contest hosted by Fresh Catch, which I did today. YUM! These were the beef selections. I judged the fish, but that didn't stop me from going from booth to booth sampling pork and "Anything Goes" entries that ranged from octopus to macadamia nuts. This marks the 4th anniversary of the competition. I was told the first year someone offered a smoked cupcake.

In bloom

It's great to see the trees in bloom on both sides of King Street, which makes a rush hour drive much more pleasant. I could only get off this one shot before my camera battery died.

Going green for fall

Neiman Marcus hosted a preview of fall fashion trends. Among them, several shades of green, as shown in this combination of a Halston dress with Helmut Lang jacket and accessories, which is great because green is one of my colors. Along with purple and orange.

Which is funny because immigrants were mocked mercilessly for wearing those colors. So I had to wear blues and browns when I was a kid. Now green, with purple and orange makes perfect sense to me.

Election day primary, 2012

I voted, even if it meant the slight glitch of going to another elementary school because my district had been reapportioned, even though the original school was much closer than current Maemae Elementary.
